Our Community

ACRC is part of a rich community tapestry, made up of the consumers and families we serve, providers of services our consumers use, advocacy groups, and certainly other social service agencies. To most efficiently utilize public funds in meeting the needs of consumers, ACRC works in a collaborative nature with other social service agencies that also offer individualized supports for people. ACRC considers itself a “collaborative partner,” one that links consumers to existing community resources on a needs basis, and one that also accept referrals from the community. Inasmuch as this regional center cannot supplant the services already offered in the community, ACRC is under legal obligation to attempt to meet the needs of its consumers first through existing community resources. If none can be located, ACRC can then utilize its own Purchase of Services (P.O.S.) monies to provide a service or an item for a consumer.
