SB616 – Vendor Sick Leave Rate Increase

Senate Bill (SB) 16 modifies the Healthy Workplaces, Health Families act of 2014. This entitles employees who work on or after January 1, 2024, to accrue 40 hours or 5 days of sick leave or paid time off by the 200th calendar day of employment, each calendar year or 12-month period. Effective January 1, 2024, vendor’s may apply for a rate increase in order to comply with the new sick leave mandate.

Minimum Wage Increase

Effective January 1, 2024

Effective January 1, 2024, the minimum wage in California will increase to $16.00 per hour in 2024 for employers. Regional center service providers that are currently paying a wage below these amounts may be entitled to an increase. Please review the information below to determine the steps necessary to apply for a rate adjustment. Any questions can be sent to the minwage@altaregional.org.
