Love

Love is a student and business owner. She started in Fall 2022 at Consumnes River College and has especially enjoyed classes where she learns about diversity and other cultures. Love is majoring in Introduction to Business and plans to use her education to continue to develop her two businesses, Tea-Time Honey Flavors and Opulent Soaps.

In 2016, Love started her businesses after learning the skills from her mother. Together, they developed their own soap and honey. Love’s mother, Artellas, works as a professional beekeeper and passed down the skills to Love. With her knowledge, Love knows how to properly harvest honey from the beehives during the harvest season and keep the bees calm and well cared for. With the honey, Love likes to add it to her handmade soaps for an extra rejuvenating touch.

Love wants to continue growing her business and sells her products at events and fairs. She hopes to eventually start selling online through a website so more people can access her products. Besides managing her businesses, Love hopes to teach other adults with disabilities about beekeeping and soapmaking so she can pass on her knowledge to those who may benefit from learning the skills. For Love, it’s not about making money beyond wanting to properly provide herself. Love wants to create a continuous opportunity for people to learn her skills and care for the bees.

When Love isn’t studying or managing her businesses, she creates music. She is a lyricist and is working on a song about mermaids as Love enjoys swimming and being in the water. Love and her mother are also in the process of writing a movie. If they can create together, Love and Artellas are happy.

As harvest season approaches in April – September, Love will be very busy ensuring the proper collection of the honey. She looks forward to the upcoming season, growing her businesses and creating products, and continuing her education.
